Thriving in Puerto Rico

Following the development of significant business growth over the past 2 years, including success at several major trade shows on the island, IMSM has announced the opening of a new office in Puerto Rico’s capital, San Juan. Area Manager, Dr. James Goldstein explained, “We will be using this as a platform to reach the Latin America market and opening branches in Venezuela and Costa Rica in the near future.”

Puerto Rico is the third largest island in the Caribbean after Cuba and Hispaniola. It is a self-governing commonwealth of the USA, benefitting from its relationship with the US, and its tariff-free access to the US market for manufacturers.

IMSM’s range of International Standards is of special interest to the island’s businesses, including banking services, a thriving port, servicing cruise liners as well as commercial shipping, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, plastics, textiles, electronics and food products. IMSM Managing Director, Michael Bright commented, “We have built good business relationships here and achieved notable success in promoting the value of international standards. By opening an office we can further enhance our ability to help businesses in the area to achieve international recognition by compliance with the relevant standards, enabling them to trade with the US competitively, as well as taking their place as a world player. I wish my team in Puerto Rico continuing success”.
